Women Who Thrive In Real Estate | Juawana Colbert

An Interview With Juawana Colbert | Realtor | Allure Realty Starring on Netflix's Selling Tampa

Hi Juawana! Tell us your Real Estate story!

Real estate was always apart of me because of the exposure I had at such a young age. I wanted to pursue real estate full time because I always felt I would be good at and I wanted more flexibility in my life and wanted to control my income more. If I wanted to work less and make less that would be my choice. If I wanted to work more and earn more, that would be my choice.

Your grandfather influenced your career in the real estate industry, can you share how?

I would say my grandfather exposed me to real estate not really influenced me. Various people influenced me, the TV shows influenced me, everything related to real estate piqued my interest. Design, Pricing, Structural, Location and of course ROI.

Who has been your role model within the Real Estate Industry? Can you tell us why?

I can’t say it has been one person because it hasn’t. I would more so say it has been people at various points in my life.

If you had to describe your life as a luxury Real Estate Agent in just one word, what would you say?

Tricky. I say this because it is a niche and it requires care and skill to break into and navigate.

What has been the biggest challenge for you within your career and how have you overcome it?

The biggest challenge in my real estate career has been securing affluent clientele. Working for a new, boutique brokerage and being a minority has its fair share of challenges but nothing I can’t overcome.

How do you find such a great balance with all that you have to manage each day?

I am very good at saying no and prioritizing. I also always take time for myself and time by myself.

What has contributed to your success in this business so far?

People, I could not do this alone. I have had mentors, opportunities, introductions to people and places that have contributed to my success.

How do you withstand the highs and lows of the business and stay motivated within one of the toughest sales industries in the world?

I have other interests and money makers that keep me motivated and paid.

What would you say is your #1 tip for others to start thriving as a Real Estate Agent?

Daily execution no matter how small.

What’s one thing you wish you could go back and tell yourself on day one as a licensed Realtor?

I would go back and say put your processes in place early. Don’t leave it up to how you are feeling that day.

What would you say in one advantage that women bring into the Real Estate Industry?

Women are usually good at being able to adjust. Real estate is all about adjusting and being able to switch gears on demand.

What advice would you give to empower other young women within their real estate careers?

I tell every young woman that yes real estate can be a game changer in your life but it doesn’t mean it will be. If you think it’s just about getting dressed, showing homes and closing deals, think again.

Great advice! Thank you for keeping it real with us and sharing your story Juawana!
